THE WORST PRISON IN THE WORLD IS THE COLD DARK CELL OF AN UNFORGIVING HEART!

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32) Think of it this way. Sin put you in prison. Sin locked you behind the bars of guilt and shame and deception and fear. Sin did nothing but shackle you to the wall of misery. Then Jesus came and paid your bail. He served your time; he satisfied the penalty and set you free. Christ died, and when you cast your lot with him, your old self died too. The only way to be set free from the prison of sin is to serve its penalty. In this case the penalty is death. Someone has to die, either you or a heavenly substitute. You cannot leave prison unless there is a death. But that death has occurred at Calvary. And when Jesus died, you died to sin's claim on your Life. YOU ARE FREE!

I have grown grateful in my life of sobriety and freedom not only from my addiction but being out from behind the wire. I am now living in a sober house and one of our old roommates passed away last Friday in his sleep. He was 29 y/o and is survived by his young daughter. I would like to ask that we pray for this young man and for those left behind. Take care Mike P. our prayers are with you

Good one! Sounds like a great system. We could do with the same program here in Australia! Praying for the reconciliation of your family.

My name is Lawrence R. Gaytan and I say that with pride for one of the first times in my life. I am 44 years old and haven't seen my son in that photo since 08/08/08 becasue i violated my probation in Austin , Texas and I am a resident of Denver, CO. My probation was for a Felony DWI, my fourth. I was sentenced to 6 months in a Therapeutic Community based on Behavioral Modification. It was prison therapy. The unit I was in was the Walker Sayel Unit in Breckenridge , Texas and I thank God for putting me there because of how we were treated. God found me and what I mean is that I had searched and searched a life time and always found my mouth full of words my hand full of actions but no spirit. God had been searching for me as His lost sheep but I was so hectic in my life He could not get ahold of me. I was forced to stop, look ,and listen while there. That is when I noticed that calm voice, that gentle presence, the warmth. I felt free. I decided to be baptized and it was the MOST CLEANSING, RENEWING experience in my life. He took my sin away He renewed my mind He freed me from the chains of hell. Because of that experience I will never be the same. I am going home a new man, a new me, a God fearing man, a loving dad and prepared to carry the word to as many as I can wherever I can. We were treated with respect and not brutalized like some of the other SAFPF units in the state. While incarcerated I started a journey with the Lord like no other. I had to find something positive to come out of a negative situation. While at Walker Sayle I was fortunate enough to meet some of the most God filled people I have ever met in my life. I never had a touch of heaven in my life until then. The Lord is in that place and I was touoched by the Lord like never before. Like I said I haven't seen my son in 15 months and the one that hurts most is I have only been in my daughters live physically for 18 days and she now is 15 months old. I pray everday for my deliverance home and each day my faith grows stronger. There is a fire inside of me that will never go away and my light will never be under a basket again. I live now more than ever for the Lord Jesus Christ in all do. It is hard and I have to remind myself all the time that, is being a Christian... work. If it were that easy we would have it made but being a Christian is like anything you want to have be strong in your life.... Hard work, Pay your dues, Reap the rewards. the nice thing though is knowing I store my treasures in heaven. I ask that you pray for my deliverance home and the reuniting of my family. Amen.

When I think about my own situation I thank God for His grace and can only say "but for the grace of God go I". It takes a split second decision to end up in there for life and I thank God for my freedom and pray for those who have lost theirs. Yes Christ knows no boundaries and can reach beyond the walls but the quality of life takes a hit behind the walls and it is sad it has to come to that.

Have a son who is a lifer, age 28. Though backslidden at present, God's word tells us that He is married to the backslider. There is hope as long as there is breath. When he surrenders God will use him in a mighty way to reach those who others cannot. Pray for prisoners all across this country as you travel and see the signs for correctional facilities. God is moving in the prisons, Holy Spirit have your way.
