A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.
So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.
She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week.
As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?
Do you know her?'
Timmy nonchalantly replied,
'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'
'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? '
'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much.
And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you,and give you peace.
May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always.
I know you smiled!
I sure did, Pass this on
and brighten someone's day!
Not to long ago I was on my motorcycle headed for work.. This Garbage truck stopped right in front of me without any warning . It was raining and the streets were wet, yet I went to swerve around it and the driver started pulling right in my lane. I had tried to steer out of it's way but started skidding right into it. Then, before my bike and I went down for the count something happened! my bike wheels got traction and I was able to steer off the road right into a horseshoe driveway that put me back on the road avoiding the accident all together. I was giving God the Glory but little did I know that the people of my Church had before prayed a prayer of safety specifically for me and when they heard of what God had done. It was a real blessing for all. On that very morning, I sung this song for the Lord..
A Brother of my Anointed Fighter Family Delivered to me the Joy of the Lord, bright n' early this Mornin', what a pleasent gift it is... Don't take everything so serious that you lose out on an Awsome Blessing, Smile God loves ya n' so do I in Christ! Blessings, WHEELS
"For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." [ISAIAH 55:12]
Hey Sis, Hope your Havin' a Blessed Weekend in Jesus Name, Amen...
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. (Proverbs 29:25)
Jesus told us not to fear other human opponents (Lk. 12:4-5). When we try to please others, when we fear what others may say or do to us, we place ourselves in a position of great vulnerability. Our lives no longer remain our own. We become captive to what others think, want, or threaten. We are to trust only the LORD and reverence him. In God is our safety, now, n' forever!
